Memorial Day Week-End 2012!

This long week-end was filled with fun and fabulous times!
As you can see... we went to the park with the Lawler's! We adore the cute Lawler family!

Mi-Ma was amazing... she babysat for us on Friday so we could go to a wedding!  Then Saturday night she babysat so we could go out with Nick and Angie. (It was their 11th anniversary!!) We went out to a delicious dinner at Farmer Brown's.  I had the best steak! Plus I got to have two back to back date nights with my adorable hubby! THANKS a million Mi-Ma for all of your help!

We had a BLAST playing in our backyard this week-end too!  Mallory and William love their state of the art pool that Daddy "built".  Hee-Hee! I think we were outside for 3 hours straight one afternoon!

We topped off the week-end at Melissa and Jay's for a BBQ! We had such a terrific time with the Wegner's, Lawler's, and Benecke's. Thank you Wegner's for a delicious and wonderful afternoon! It sometimes puts me in check that I'm all grown-up doing the things my mom did... it feels like yesterday.  Holy Moly... We are the parents... and we LOVE every minute!

 Love love love our friends!

1st Dentist Appointment!

Today at 8:30 am marked William and Mallory's first dentist appointment!  William and Mallory far exceeded our expectations... they were FANTASTIC patients!  Much to my surprise, William wanted to go first.  (I guessed Mallory would have volunteered to go first.)  Well, William did super and set the tone.  They both got teeth x-rays and the full cleaning!  They both have twenty teeth too... and no cavities for the time being.  We couldn't be more proud!  I was a little sentimental because I had a huge flashback as to when they got their first tooth.  Sniff. Sniff. :)  Boy, time is flying!

And, not only was today their first dentist experience, today marked the first day of summer vacation! (Gotta love being a teacher! 86 days off in a row!) So, since they did terrific at the dentist, we got to pick out a toy at Target afterwards. We first picked up a few groceries, and William picked out a truck pulling 2 motorcycles, and Mallory picked up a new blue-eyed baby. (She named her Lauren!) So... we were in the far corner of the store, nowhere near a bathroom, and Poor Mallory swallowed some fluoride and it made her "urp"/ throw-up.  I caught it in my hands and all was great.  After that, it made her feel 100 percent! Poor little thing... I could tell it might be coming... They both definitely deserved a toy after that!

William opted for no sunglasses during his cleaning...

Mallory opted for glasses during the cleaning...

I believe this is William and Mallory's... we survived pose!

Check out these pearly whites...

Extra toothy grin...

We also did haircuts today... I'm trying to get all the "boring" things out of the way so we can spend the rest of the summer playing, swimming, going to Kindermusik, Sports Camp, Preschool Story Time, The Omaha Children's Museum, cooking, crafting, etc, etc... It's going to be a fun summer!

Happy Birthday Mi-Ma!!!

Nothing could make us more happy than having Mi-Ma over for a little birthday celebration!  (Thanks for joining us Matt and Steve!) We are so blessed and thankful that Mi-Ma is taking good care of herself!  We are proud of you... and we love you very very much!!!!!!  Happy Birthday, Mi-Ma! (The picture above is my new favorite picture!!!)

Yummmmmmy!!!

Let's rewind for a bit... Before we had our Mi-Ma birthday celebration, I took Mallory and William with me to our famous cookie store - Eileen's Cookies.  We thought since we were sending home the big cookie with Mi-Ma, we would need a couple smaller cookies for the week-end.  Well... Miss Mallory accidentally poked her finger in the wrapping and her cute little finger dug into the frosting.  So what do you do when you have yummy frosting on your finger... you lick it - duh!  Well... it tasted so good...that the hole got bigger and bigger... and Mallory's face got more and more red with frosting.!  William then  pipes up and shows me his cookies.  William says:  "See Mommy, I listen... my cookies are still right here!"

Mother's Day 2012!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE being a mommy!!!  It is one of the best gifts! Have I mentioned lately how grateful we are for my healthy and terrific mom!  God has blessed us!  Thank you, God!

We are also very thankful for Grandma Carol too!
Gotta love Mother's Day!!!

We started the day with Church as a family with Mi-Ma... then the Grandma's came over for french toast casserole and presents!  We had a glorious morning and afternoon together.  We are so lucky!

After nap... Mallory, Mi-Ma, and myself headed to David's Bridal to get Mallory fitted for her flower's girl dress.  Mal Mal is going to be in my cousin Travis and Sarah's wedding!  We sure can't wait!  This was such a lovely evening with the girls!  I couldn't stop taking pictures of "Princess Mallory"!

William got to go to the park with Daddy!  William loves motorcycles... and of course, "Daddy Time"!

BBQ Fun!

So we ended up throwing a little spur of the moment BBQ since the Herrley's and the Loftus' couldn't make it to the farm and back in time for everyone to be everywhere.  May is wild but awesome!  You see, it was Mary's son's (Blake) High School graduation.  We all really wanted to go to his party, but time got the best of us.  We still wanted to see each other so... here we are... a BEAUTIFUL Saturday, and we are together as family!  (We are going to head to the farm real soon when we can spend the whole day there and not feel rushed!)  So... we also invited the Connelly's over.  It really felt like old times with our old time charcoal grill and wiffle ball, but we now have kids of our own!  It really brings back awesome memories!  Life is amazing!

My "Brothers"... still so excited to have Tommy back in the good old U. S. of A!
I love this picture below!!! We bring our tradition of wiffle ball to the next generation!

Hey batter batter...
swing!

Mi-Ma even got in on the action!

Golly... we cherish these times together!!!!
Now the next time Katie is in town with her kids... we will have a true game of wiffle ball.  Paper plate bases and all!!!! Like old times... Matt and Steve will be captains. (Matt... get the icy hot ready for your back!)
