Halloween 2011!

We can't believe it... this is Mallory and William's 3rd Halloween... and boy, did they both get the hang of , "Trick or Treat"! They both always said, "Thank you", too! It was simply a happy and marvelous Halloween day and night! Gotta love our cupcake girl and hamburger boy! Yummy! Yummy! Yummy!

"Uncle Matt" came with us Trick or Treating... William and Mallory adore Matt and Mi-Ma! Mi-Ma came over too, but she only stayed for a bit.

Knock... Knock... (William and Mallory really love to do the knocking too, but not if there is a dog or cat!) And... each year keeps getting better. 1st year... we didn't make it to one house. 2nd year... 2 houses... and this year, about 8 houses. We can only imagine what next year will hold. :)

We even let William and Mallory sample one candy before bed... that is a treat!

Earlier in the day, Miss Lori threw a great Halloween party! We are so thankful for such amazing people in our lives!!!

Stickers!!!

Mi-Ma gave Mallory and William lots and lots of pumpkin and bat stickers! So where to put the stickers??? We thought our feet, hands, arms, legs, and nose. Regular paper is old news. ;)

Halloween Parties!

We had a "spook-tacular" day at the Lawler's! We even looked for pumpkins like they were eggs at Easter... the kiddos had a super duper, memorable time!

The lil' pumpkins even played pin the nose on the jack-o-lantern!

Brooklyn's 4th Birthday!

As you can see, we had a TERRIFIC time at our Goddaughter's Birthday party! We sure love our Brooklyn and all of her family! We truly have the bestest of friends!!!

Story Hour!

We were so excited for story hour at The Bookworm today! We got to see Laura Huliska-Beith in person! (I read her books almost everyday to my twins and 2nd graders!) Laura is a famous author and illustrator whom I have known since I was little girl. Her sister, Beth and I went to grade school together. I have such great memories at the Huliska house! Some of Laura's famous books include: The Recess Queen, Book of Bad Ideas, Favorite Things, and Ten Little Lady Bugs.
Not only did my family get to meet the talented Laura for the first time, but some of my students joined me on this special day too! Below is Brooklyn and Morgan getting their books signed by Laura... Morgan was also making Mallory giggle!


Now this next author is new to me, but she is also very talented. Her name is Jenny Sue Kostecki-Shaw. She wrote: Same, Same, but Different. All my "kids" loved listening to her story!

Of course meeting famous children's authors for me is like if Mike could meet Taylor Martinez, the Nebraska quarterback. It gets me all giddy and excited! Children's books are such an inspiration to everyone!

Then when we got home... I read our new stories over and over again! Books are the best! Thanks to Laura and Jenny for making a difference in the lives of many children!
